All athletes should be registered through the Stealth Field Hockey website in advance of the intended season of play this includes camps, fundamental sessions, tryouts for leagues and practices for accepted teams. Registration can be completed online here.

Additionally, all athletes on regional and national teams must be a member of the USA Field Hockey Organization. Membership for USA Field Hockey Organization can be completed online here. Please present a copy of the athlete’s membership card and birth certificate at the tryout session.

Evaluation & Tryouts:

Eligibility to tryout:

Tryouts are open to all new and returning athletes who are interested in playing on a Stealth Field Hockey Team.

Age of eligibility is based on the USA Field Hockey associations rule. As such, the age of eligibility is based on birth year considered as of December 31st of that given year for the following year of play— and not school grade.

For example, if the athlete is 15 on December 31st and turns 16 on January 1st the athlete will remain in the U16 division.

Players may be asked to play in a division above their age eligibility due to the talent of the athlete and/in order to fill out a team in the specific division.

Procedure:

Tryouts are held over the course of multiple days.

The Stealth Field Hockey Coaching Staff will evaluate the athlete’s skills, effort, and team compatibility.  Final team selection and placement will be based on the athlete’s stick work, accuracy of passing, footwork, speed, defensive skills, and oversight of the field. Other considerations will include the athlete’s leadership, efforts towards driving team spirit, and  general attitude. Prior field hockey experience is not required to be considered for a Stealth Field Hockey Team.

The Stealth Field Hockey Coaching Staff is committed to placing all athlete’s respectively on the team that will provide them with the best opportunity for growth and development.
