2017 Outdoor Programs & Tryouts

The outdoor season begins in early April and concludes early June.

General Administration:

Appropriate Registrations:

Please ensure that you have read the general Program Overview subsections on registration as well as the procedures for the tryout evaluations.

As a reminder, all athlete’s must be registered through the Stealth Field Hockey website before participating in the upcoming tryouts. This can be completed here.

Additionally, players that are selected for a regional or national team must be a member with the USA Field Hockey organization. This can be completed here through the USA Field Hockey website.

Please note, times and dates of the following Programs and Tryouts are subject to change. All changes will be posted on the Stealth Field Hockey Calendar. Check out our calendar here. 

Equipment:

All National and Regional teams are required to wear a Stealth pennie to all practices. Pennie’s can be purchased at try-outs or before their first scheduled practice.

Outdoor 2017 Programs

Fundamental Sessions
We offer a clinic designed for U8/U10 and U12/U14 beginning players, and/or >2 years of playing. This is open to any and all participants, and you do not need to try-out to be a part of this clinic. The clinic will run for 8 weeks (dates coming soon). This program introduces young athletes to the sport of field hockey. Focuses of the sessions include passing and receiving, dribbling skills, defensive skills and tactics, and much more! Please bring the following equipment: tennis shoes or cleats, mouthguard, shinguards, and field hockey stick. All items are mandatory to participate.

Competitive Teams
Try-outs:
Competitive teams are selected based on try-outs that will take place on the following dates:
U12- March 11th and 12th from 1:00-2:30pm.
U14- March 11th and 12th from 2:30-4pm.
U16- March 11th and 12th from 4-5:30pm.
U19- March 11th and 12th from 4-5:30pm.

The players will be placed on National and Regional Teams and players will practice with their teams 2 times per week for the entirety of the outdoor season.

Play Days
All Regional and National teams will be participating in at least one local play day. Date and times TBD.

Tournaments
National Teams are required to travel to their respective National Tournaments. U16 and U19 National Teams will be attending JPOL and RCC tournaments. The U14 National team will be attending the RCC tournament. The U12 National Teams will attend a National tournament as well. Specific tournament dates to follow.

Goalies
Goalies wanting to play competitively must try-out with the field players on the above dates. All U16/19 National and Regional goalies, and U14 National goalies, will practice with their teams and attend 1 skill day with our Goalie Coaches for 8 weeks. For the U14 Regional goalies, and all of the U12 goalies, this will be optional.
